On Instagram people decide from the picture, in the feed, before they read a word; the caption sits under it, cut after about 125 characters. So an Instagram post is written in two layers: the words on the picture stop the scroll, and the caption adds the why and gives a reason to save or share. This skill writes both, from any material, or adapts an idea that already exists as a LinkedIn or Facebook post or an article, so the Instagram version is its own post.
When to use
- Writing or improving one Instagram post: the title and line on the picture, the caption, the hashtags.
- Turning an article or a LinkedIn/Facebook post into an Instagram post, or into a set of 4 pictures.
- Not for: running the queue, connecting, approvals (
cmo-instagram); Reels scripts (cmo-short-form-video); ads (cmo-ad-creative,cmo-meta-ads).
