Connect Wix to cmo.so
Paste one Wix API key and Maggie publishes posts to your Wix Blog under the member you choose, with their pictures, at your posting times.
Free to start · No credit card · You approve every post
One key, three permissions
Wix API keys are made under Account Settings → API Keys. cmo.so tests every permission before you connect, so nothing fails later.
Connect your Wix site
First make sure the site is published and has the Wix Blog app, then make the key.
Publish the site with Wix Blog
Your site must be published at least once and have the Wix Blog app added. Add yourself as a site member too: posts are written by a member.

Open API Keys
In Wix, open your account menu → Account Settings → API Keys and press Generate API Key.

Name the key
Under Key details type a name such as cmo.so. Under Sites keep All sites, or pick only the site Maggie will post to.

Tick Wix Blog
Under Permissions → All site permissions, press See all and tick Wix Blog (blog posts and categories).

Tick Ricos Documents
Tick Ricos Documents too: it's the rich-content permission that lets posts be formatted.
Tip This is the one people miss. Without it posts can't be formatted, and the app's check says so.

Tick Manage Site Media, then Generate Key
Tick Manage Site Media (for each post's picture) and press Generate Key.

Confirm with the code Wix emails you
Wix sends a 6-digit code to your email to confirm it's you. Press Send Code, enter it, then copy the key Wix shows.

Choose Wix in the app
In the cmo.so app, go to Posts → Show me how and choose Wix (API key).

Paste the key and check it
Paste it into Wix API key and tap Check key. cmo.so tests each permission and tells you if one is missing.

Pick the site and the author
If the key sees several sites, choose one under Which site?, then choose who the posts are written by under Posts written by, and tap Connect.

A week with Maggie on your Wix blog
The week's posts wait in Posts → Ready with their titles and pictures.
You approve them in a minute on your phone.
Each posting time, the next one appears on your Wix blog under your name, formatted and illustrated. Posts → Out shows its address on your site.
Things to watch on Wix
No blog, no posts
Without the Wix Blog app on a published site, posts can't go out; the app warns you.
All three permissions
A key without Ricos Documents works for some calls but fails when formatting posts; the check catches it.
Hidden is only a tag
Wix can't keep a post off the blog feed, so every post shows in your blog.
Keys stay in the form
The API key goes straight to cmo.so over HTTPS, checked with Wix.

Wix blog automation: your questions
Still unsure?
Why does the API key need three permissions?
Wix Blog creates and checks posts, Ricos Documents (Wix's rich content) turns each article into Wix's own formatted content, and Manage Site Media uploads its featured picture to your Wix Media.
Without Ricos Documents, posts fail without a clear error, which is why the app tests every permission before you can connect.
Wix also emails you a 6-digit code when you generate the key, to confirm it's you.
Can I choose who the posts are written by?
Yes, any member of the site. Pick them under Posts written by when you connect. If the site has no members yet, add yourself as a member in Wix and check again.
If you want posts under your own name, add yourself as a site member in Wix before you connect. Each post then appears on your Wix blog under that member, at your-site.com/post/<slug>, with its featured picture and categories or tags.
My key sees several Wix sites. Which one gets the posts?
The one you choose under Which site?. The site that matches your website address is listed first.
If you'd like the key to work for one site only, pick that site under Sites when you generate the key in Wix, instead of keeping All sites. Then there's nothing to choose when you connect, and the key can't post anywhere else.
Why does my site have to be published with Wix Blog?
Maggie publishes into the Wix Blog app. A site that has never been published, or has no blog, has nowhere for posts to go, so the app warns you and keeps Connect disabled until it's ready.
To get ready, add the Wix Blog app, publish the site and add yourself as a site member, then go back to the cmo.so app and tap Check key again. Wix can't keep a post off the blog feed, so every post Maggie publishes shows in your blog. If you want fewer in the feed, choose a lower Posts per day in Publishing settings.
How many articles will Maggie publish on Wix?
New connections start at one article a day. You choose Posts per day in Publishing settings, up to your plan's limit: 1 before a plan, then 2 (Air), 12 (Pro), 24 (Max), 48 (Ultra) or 96 (Elite).
Each delivered article uses one post from your monthly allowance, and the app shows what's left. Turn Publishing off and written articles simply wait in order.
Can I edit an article before it reaches Wix?
Yes. Open it in Posts → Ready: switch between Preview and Edit, change any words and Save. Rewrite asks Maggie for a new version with your note, Fix Markdown tidies the formatting, and Publish now sends it straight away on connections that support it.
Ideas for future articles sit in Posts → Ideas, where you can add your own, reorder the plan or delete any you don't want.
Will Maggie update older articles on Wix?
If you want her to. In Publishing settings, Refresh older articles can be Off, When I ask or Automatic. Automatic uses a share of each day's posts (10 to 50%) for rewrites of articles older than 30, 60, 90 or 180 days.
Rewrites keep the same address, so links and search history stay; the Rewrite queue in Me shows what's suggested and what has been rewritten, and Search Console data steers which articles need it most.
What does the content guard check before a Wix post goes out?
When it's on, the content guard reads each post before it goes out and checks it against your industry's rules (financial, medical, insurance, legal or education) and any rule you write yourself, such as never naming a competitor.
A post that may break a rule is held, as a draft on your website or in Review for social, with the reason and a suggested rewrite, even if posts normally go out on their own. You can see what it held and why in Publishing settings.
Can I check every Wix post before it goes out?
Yes, and that's how it starts. New posts wait in the app (Posts → Ready for articles, Social → Review for social posts) until you approve them. You can edit any post, ask Maggie to change it in your own words, or delete it.
When you trust the results, switch the channel to go out on its own; the content guard keeps checking each post first and holds anything it isn't sure about. You can switch back, or pause, at any time.
How soon will Wix bring results?
Your brand profile and the first drafts are ready within minutes of entering your website, and the first posts can go out the same day once you approve them.
Search traffic builds over weeks to months as Google and AI assistants find and trust your pages; social reach grows with regular posting. Connect Search Console to see which posts bring clicks, and Maggie uses it to choose what to improve.
Do I need to verify my website first?
Verifying proves the website is yours. It unlocks your 30 free posts and, for some connections, publishing itself. You can verify with a work email at your domain, a DNS TXT record (one tap if your domain is on Cloudflare), the WordPress plugin, or by asking us to check by hand, usually within one working day.
Free email addresses such as Gmail or Outlook can't be used for the email check.
Can I manage Wix from my phone?
Yes. Everything on this page works in the cmo.so app on iPhone and on the web at app.cmo.so: connecting, approving, editing and pausing.
You can also ask Maggie from ChatGPT or Claude through the cmo.so connector, for example to see what's waiting for you or to change a post, and she shows a card before she changes anything.
